The answer will depend solely on your tastes, but luckily, we are here to offer you detailed information about the main beaches that we recommend, so that you can determine for yourself, which is the right beach or beaches for your vacation.
- CARVAJAL BEACH
We start with one of our favorites: Carvajal Beach, which stretches from Benalmadena to Fuengirola, with a length of more than 1200 meters, and a width of 20 meters. It has the “Q” for Quality and the Blue Flag award granted in 2019.
It is an urban beach, with dark sand and little depth, so it is ideal for children.
It is one of our favorites, in addition to its location, because of how complete it is. You will see that this beach offers all the necessary services, from renting umbrellas and sunbeds, lifeguards, access for the disabled, showers and public toilets, rental of equipment for practicing water sports of all kinds and one of our most recommended restaurants in our “Information tourist for guests ”, the Kalifato.
That is, in addition to having all the necessary services, you will find excellent beach bars where you can eat a good paella and sea food at a good price!
The beach is easily accessible on foot, from anywhere, you can also get there by train since the beach has its own station called “Carvajal”.
2. BIL BIL BENALMADENA BEACH
Located in the center of the municipality, the Bil Bil beach is famous for having at one of its ends the fantastic Bil Bil castle, built in 1927 by the Hermann family, with its characteristic Arabic style surrounded by palm trees gives that gives a special charm to the place and with an area of 400 meters in length and about 20 meters in average width.
This beach is very popular for its palm trees and the charm of the Bil Bil castle, but above all because it has a magnificent location, it is located near Puerto Marina, but at the same time close to all the restaurants and best beach bars in the area, to be able to enjoy also the night on the beach with good music.
In summer it is a very busy beach, throughout the week, and although it does not have an assigned private parking, you can park along the seafront of Benalmadena.
3. LA CARIHUELA BEACH
La Carihuela beach is undoubtedly another of our favorites, it is the beach with the most fame and influx of public in all of Torremolinos, since it is also where we can find more beach bars and restaurants.
Originally from a fishing village, this beach that still retains its Andalusian charm has an area of 2,100 m in length and 40 m in average width, its sand is dark in color since it is of volcanic origin and the tide is usually very calm.
The best thing about this beach is its atmosphere, in addition to being able to do many water sports with its calm tide, it has a lot of life both in summer and winter since it is usually frequented by many foreigners, and in addition to being very long, it is characterized by its wide range of restaurants of foreign cuisine and Malaga beach bars, where you can try various dishes of traditional cuisine.
4. LOS ALAMOS (TORREMOLINOS)
Los Alamos beach, located in the municipality of Torremolinos, has golden sand and moderate waves, and is known for being one of the most atmospheric beaches on the Costa del Sol.
It is more than 1km long and 60m wide, which makes it perfect for taking long walks enjoying the pleasant temperatures of Malaga.
It is a beach that also has a wide gastronomic offer, many chiringuitos, restaurants, it is also a good beach for outdoor sports activities, but we mainly recommend it for groups of young people, since its beach bars are known for good music and party during the day and its bars for parties at night.
5. LA CALA DE MIJAS BEACH
The Mijas cove is a 12-kilometer coastal nucleus, composed of 11 beaches called: Playa de la Luna, Playa de Algaida, Playa de Calahonda, Beaches of Alcasur, Riviera and Cabo Rocoso, Playa de El Bombo, Playa de la butibamba- La Cala, Beaches of Sheriff, Las Doradas and Chaparral, Beaches of Playamarina, Beaches of Charcon, Beaches of the Lighthouse of Calaburras, Beaches of Peñon del cura.
Our recommendation of the beaches of La Cala is the Charcón beach, mainly due to its location, spaciousness, and services.
It is a very wide beach with golden sand, perfect for practicing sports, with a beautiful wooden walkway to walk for several kilometers, which also has all the services of bathrooms, showers, service points for the disabled, among others, and also with a good gastronomic proposal since you will find restaurants and beach bars throughout the promenade.
6. BURRIANA BEACH (NERJA)
Burriana beach is considered the best beach in Nerja. It has a length of 800 meters and a width of 40 meters. The sand is fine and golden.
Although we must drive a bit to get there from Benalmadena (approximately 45 minutes), we highly recommend this beach, it is wide with crystal clear water, you will find many beach bars and restaurants with good Malaga food with Giant paellas cooked over a wood fire, many hammocks, and above all it is a beach that usually has a very calm tide, and is perfect for practicing water sports.
It is a really complete beach, it has showers, hammocks, a children’s play area, beach volleyball courts, pedal boat rentals, jet skis, kayaks and even a diving and paragliding center. The beach also has toilets and a security service.
The favorite sport to do on this beach is kayaking, since less than 5 minutes from the shore of the beach you will find a beautiful cave to explore and a waterfall, and you can also go to the neighboring beaches and coves that are charming.
It is important to know that this beach is very busy in summer and that it is in a difficult area to park, you must park up the hill about 5-10 minutes walking from the beach but we assure you that it is worth it.
7. DUNAS DE ARTOLA (CABOPINO)
The Artola dunes or Cabopino dunes are a system of fossil and mobile dunes that make up a natural enclave on the east coast of the municipality of Marbella, in the province of Malaga, Andalusia, Spain. Its dunes were declared a Natural Monument by the Junta de Andalucía in 2001, covering an area of 192,715 m².
It is a wide and long beach, with fine golden sand, very natural and protected, it even has a small part where you can practice naturism. It has few restaurants, but you will find some beach bars at the ends of the beach, and it also has public parking next to the Puerto Deportivo de Cabopino.
8. PUERTO BANUS BEACH – MARBELLA

Puerto Banús Beach is located in the municipality of Marbella, Málaga. As its name suggests, this beach is located in the most sophisticated enclave of the Costa del Sol, the beach of Puerto Banús is the most glamorous beach in all of Marbella. You will fall in love with its beautiful tongue of golden sand in the shape of a half moon and its family and relaxed atmosphere.
They are actually two beaches called Rio Verde and El Duque. It is a semi-urban beach of golden sand, 1,500 m long and 40 m wide, surrounded by a long promenade. RIO VERDE BEACH, PUERTO BANUS – MARBELLA
